[SERVICE] Local SEO

Local SEO services
for Denver-area businesses.

GBP optimization, citations, local content, reviews, and service-area pages — done together, not à la carte. The fastest path to local pack visibility for Aurora, Denver, and Front Range businesses.

[01] The problem

Why local SEO is its own discipline.

Local SEO and "regular" SEO are not the same thing. They share fundamentals — schema, content, links — but the ranking factors that matter most are completely different. For traditional organic search, your Domain Rating, content depth, and link profile drive rankings. For local pack rankings, your Google Business Profile completeness, review velocity, citation consistency, and proximity to the searcher matter more than any of those.

Most Denver agencies run "local SEO" as a checkbox inside a broader SEO retainer. They claim the GBP, fix some citations, and call it done. But the local pack is a daily, dynamic auction — it shifts based on review velocity, GBP post cadence, photo freshness, and the searcher's exact location. Set-and-forget local SEO doesn't work.

Our local SEO service is built around the disciplines that actually move the local pack: weekly GBP optimization (posts, photos, Q&A, products), automated review acquisition with response cadence, citation building and consistency monitoring, hyper-local content (service-area pages by neighborhood), and a local schema architecture that stitches it all together. It's a real, full service — not a checkbox in a broader SEO scope.

[02] Our method

How we run local SEO.

/01

Phase 1: Foundation audit (week 1)

We benchmark your current local presence: GBP completeness score, citation count and consistency, current local pack rankings on a tracked keyword set, review profile (count, velocity, sentiment), and competitor comparison against the three businesses currently ranking in your local pack. This audit becomes the baseline against which everything is measured.

/02

Phase 2: GBP optimization (week 1–2)

We complete every field on your Google Business Profile: hours, services, products, attributes, categories, photos (geotagged, 10+ minimum), description, FAQ, and Q&A seeded with common buyer questions. Categories are the most-overlooked input — Google ranks by your primary category, but secondary categories help you appear for adjacent searches.

/03

Phase 3: Citation building & cleanup (weeks 2–6)

We submit your business to the foundational citation directories (Bing, Yelp, Apple Business Connect, Foursquare, Yellow Pages, BBB, Manta, plus 30+ industry-specific ones) and clean up any inconsistent existing listings. NAP consistency — Name, Address, Phone — has to match exactly across every citation. One inconsistent address weakens local pack signal.

/04

Phase 4: Reviews acquisition (ongoing)

We set up automated review request flows (SMS or email after each customer interaction) and monitor incoming reviews daily. Every review gets a draft response from us for your approval. Volume matters but velocity matters more — businesses gaining reviews steadily outrank businesses with more total reviews but no recent activity.

/05

Phase 5: Local content & service-area pages (month 2 onward)

We build neighborhood-targeted service-area pages — one per major neighborhood in your service area — with unique content, local landmarks, and proper schema. For Denver-area businesses, this typically means 5–10 service-area pages over the first six months. These pages are how you rank for hyper-local searches that generic city-wide pages can't capture.

[03] Common mistakes

The five local SEO mistakes Denver businesses make.

Local SEO is mostly fundamentals, but the fundamentals get skipped because they're tedious. Here's where most local businesses leak rankings.

/01

Inconsistent NAP across citations

Name, Address, Phone — your business listing should match exactly across every directory. "123 Main St" on Google, "123 Main Street" on Yelp, "123 Main" on Bing — these inconsistencies weaken local pack signal. We audit citations on day one and clean up every mismatch.

/02

Treating GBP as set-and-forget

A Google Business Profile completed once and never touched again is a profile losing rank to competitors who post weekly. Cadence matters more than perfection. We post weekly, refresh photos weekly, and answer Q&A within 48 hours.

/03

Asking for reviews from the wrong customers

Don't ask 100 customers for reviews — they'll mostly ignore you. Ask the 20 customers who specifically thanked you, and the response rate is 80%. Targeted review requests at the right moment (immediately post-service, while the experience is fresh) outperform mass-blast requests.

/04

Building one "city" page instead of neighborhood pages

A single "Denver service area" page can't rank for the dozens of neighborhood-specific searches your customers actually run. "Plumber LoDo" and "plumber Highland" pull different SERPs than "plumber Denver." We build separate, distinct service-area pages for each major neighborhood.

/05

Forgetting Google Maps photos

GBP photos with proper geotags and EXIF data signal to Google that you're physically operating where you say you are. Most businesses upload three photos at setup and never add more. Weekly fresh photos correlate strongly with sustained local pack rankings.

[FAQ] Local SEO

Common questions.

Different ranking factors. Traditional SEO is dominated by Domain Rating, content depth, and link quality. Local pack rankings are dominated by GBP completeness, review velocity, citation consistency, and proximity to the searcher. Many businesses need both, but the workflows are distinct enough that we sell them as separate services.
Sometimes — depends on Google's interpretation of your service area. A Lakewood plumber can rank for "plumber west Denver" with proper service-area pages. A Centennial accountant can rank for "accountant south Denver." But you generally won't rank for the head term of a city you're not in unless you have a real address there. We'll be honest about which keywords are realistic for your business location.
Not necessarily. Service-area businesses (plumbers, electricians, mobile services) can hide their address from GBP and still rank. The trade-off: you can rank for service searches but you'll appear less prominently for proximity searches than businesses with public addresses. For the majority of home services and trades, this is fine.
More than your closest local pack competitors, with steady velocity. If the businesses currently ranking in your local pack have 30 reviews, you need 30+ to be in the conversation. If they have 100+, you need to commit to a multi-month review acquisition campaign. Velocity matters: 30 reviews gained over 6 months outranks 60 reviews gained 3 years ago and never updated.
Yes. Google reviews drive the local pack, but Yelp, Facebook, BBB, and industry-specific review platforms (Healthgrades for healthcare, Houzz for home services, Avvo for legal, etc.) all influence trust signals. Our review acquisition flows can request reviews on multiple platforms strategically — we don't ask the same customer for reviews on every platform.
60–90 days for measurable movement, assuming the GBP is fully claimed and we have admin access. The first 30 days are usually visible in the GBP Insights data (more profile views, more direction requests). Weeks 60–90 are when local pack rankings start moving on the keywords we're tracking. Past 90 days, results compound — every additional review and citation makes the next ranking easier.
